The BBC is running this story on a new congressional assessment that pegs the total cost of the invasion and occupation of Iraq at $1.5 trillion. The new report comes hot on the heels of Prez. Bush’s veto today of a $600 billion bill to fund new education projects, Social Security benefits and Medicare and Medicaid cost adjustments. Meanwhile. Bush approved a new spending bill that provides an additional $460 billion to the Pentagon for the fiscal year 2008.
The good news? That $1.5 trillion debt incurred today will be heavily discounted tomorrow as the Fed continues its merciless devaluing of the dollar in its desperate effort to save their investment banker buddies.
