Treehugger has a post about the imminent arrival of Phoenix Motorcar’s all-electric and Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) Sport Utility Trucks (SUT).

If you are lucky enough to be a California resident, you can join the waiting list to purchase a Phoenix car at an as yet undisclosed price. The SUT will be available in a plug-in version that will extend the 100-150 mile battery range of the car, and supplement battery power with a small internal combustion engine. The plug-in function can quick charge the battery cells in about an hour off of 220 VAC.

Together with the recent unveiling of the Dodge Sprinter and the Chevy Volt PHEVs, the benefits of plug-ins are starting to gain momentum in the press just in time for the summer gas price hikes to get into full swing.
