Josh Wolf secured his release yesterday, after serving the longest imprisonment term of any U.S. journalist ever for withholding information from prosecutors. Wolf agreed to turn over his video footage of a 2005 protest in exchange for immunity from testimony at a grand jury trial that potentially seeks to indict some of the protesters in Wolf’s video. Ironically, Wolf already offered to do just that before he went to prision, but Federal prosecutor’s refused until yesterday’s compromise.
